Suicide Prevention Walk.jpg

Walk For Will

Zeta chapter continued its support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Brothers walked in solidarity with those who have been affected by depression and suicide through their friends, family, or own personal experience.

Suicide and mental health are pertinent issues in our chapter and community. In 2018 we lost the son of our Chapter Advisor, Will Czymmek, on the day before his eighteenth birthday. Many brothers have a strong association with the dairy industry, which has seen increased rates of mental health issues in the past few years. Cornell University itself holds a reputation as one of the most stressful universities in the nation.

Rates of reported depression, stress, and anxiety have increased both within the agricultural industry and on Cornell’s campus. You can show your support for the AFSA by donating here.

Bridges, Cornell Heights

Alpha Gamma Rho is committed to making a positive impact within our community. For years, we have been volunteering at Bridges, a nearby nursing home in Cornell Heights. Although we were unable to meet with our neighbors for some time due to COVID-19, we're proud to say that we're resuming this important tradition. Our brothers are eager to continue connecting with the members of our community and building lasting relationships.
